Issue 92  |  19 April 2024

Welcome to this week's Stakeholder Bulletin.

This week's bulletin has information on

Spring covid vaccine programme

People who are immunosuppressed, aged 75 or over and older adults care home residents are now eligible for their covid-19 spring vaccine. People in these groups will be invited to book in for their vaccine starting from April. It is really important to book in and get your vaccine if this is offered to you. The vaccine reduces your risk of becoming seriously unwell with covid.

  • Operational planning for NHS services in 2024/25 and improving the system's financial position
  • News updates from across the Derby and Derbyshire health and care system

Papers and presentations for the Integrated Care Partnership can be read on Derby City Council's website.

Healthwatch Derbyshire covid and flu survey

Do you live in Langley Mill, Somercotes, or Marlpool? Healthwatch Derbyshire wants to hear from people eligible for flu and COVID vaccines.

They're interested in your opinions on COVID and flu vaccinations, as well as any barriers you may face in getting vaccinated. Giving your feedback will only take 5 minutes of your time and could make a significant impact on healthcare strategies.

Plus, by taking part, you'll have the chance to win a £100 Love-To-Shop voucher!

Your input will be used to tell the NHS and Public Health about what's working well and what could be improved for flu and COVID vaccinations this winter.

If you're keen to have your voice heard, don't miss this opportunity. Take the survey on this link.

Oral health survey for young people

Derbyshire County Council and Derby City Council have created a survey for young people (aged 13-20) to understand what young people already know and think about oral health.

We would appreciate it if you to share this with your networks and encourage anyone who fits within the age range to complete the survey - there’s a chance to win £50 of shopping vouchers or one of two runner-up prizes of £25 of shopping vouchers.

Chesterfield Royal Hospital's committed to being a great place to work

Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has been recognized as the fifth best Acute Hospital Trust to work at in the country by its colleagues, but it remains committed to addressing concerns within the workplace. Dr Hal Spencer, the Trust's Chief Executive, has made it clear that any increases in violence, aggression, racism, or sexualized behaviour will not be tolerated.

Learn more about this on the Chesterfield Royal Hospital website.

Bowel Cancer Awareness Month

April is Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, which is an opportunity to raise awareness of bowel cancer, the fourth most common cancer in the UK.

The earlier bowel cancer is spotted, the more treatable it’s likely to be. In fact, more than 9 in 10 people survive bowel cancer when it is diagnosed at the earliest stage.

You can find out more on the Bowel Cancer UK website.

Smoke-free ambition

Over £5 million in Government funding aims to double the number of people quitting smoking in Derbyshire over the next five years. The funding will expand the free 12-week stop smoking service and increase demand for services, as well as provide training to partners.

Find out more about this on the Derby County Council website.
