Team Up includes nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, paramedics, social workers, social prescribers, mental health practitioners and support workers.

Safe Havens receive overwhelming positive feedback

Thanks to the vital support provided by Derby Safe Haven, more local people in Derby have received immediate help with their mental health issues.  

Safe Havens are focused on reducing immediate concern to those experiencing mental distress, to better support people to access the right help at the right time.

Derby Safe Haven has received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback about the support for local residents.

One resident said:  “The team here are amazing, a thank you doesn’t seem enough.”

New visiting hours at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton

On Monday July 8 2024, visiting hours changed across all University Hospitals of Derby and Burton sites, following changes in national regulation from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), and feedback from patients, visitors and staff.

Visiting hours for adult inpatient wards will be 8am to 8pm across all five Trust sites with some exceptions in key areas.

New Dynamic Support Pathway web page

A new page for the Dynamic Support Pathway is now available on the Joined up Care Derbyshire website.

The pathway brings together the services who provide help and support to children, young people and adults with a learning disability, autism or both. The key focus being on prevention, early identification and early intervention.

Speech, language and communications services survey

Across Derby partners are looking to build on, and expand, the good work currently being done by the speech, language and communication service. They are keen to hear the views of as many people as possible.

Whooping cough rates increase

Whooping cough rates have risen sharply in recent months. Babies who are too young to start their vaccinations are at greatest risk.

Vaccination is the best defence against whooping cough. The whooping cough vaccine is given as part of the routine childhood vaccination schedule in the UK at 8, 12 and 16 weeks of age with a booster offered preschool.

Did you know that you don't always need to see a GP or consultant to access some referral services? Self-referral is an option that can make it easier and faster for you to get help, rather than seeing your doctor.

You can register for most of them online. Find out more.
