Welcome to this week's Stakeholder Bulletin.

We aim to bring you key updates each week from the health and care system.

In this edition you can find details of NHS organisations nominated for awards, find out more about upcoming annual members meetings and details of upcoming events.

HSJ awards shortlist

A number of Derbyshire NHS organisations have been shortlisted for the HSJ awards this week. HSJ awards shine a light on the outstanding efforts and achievements that teams across the sector have delivered.

Congratulations to:

  • NHS Derby and Derbyshire ICB, Derby City PCN, Community Action Derby and Derby Health Inequalities Partnership - Going further and faster in the detection of Hypertension by increasing blood pressure checks in at-risk and deprived communities. Shortlisted for the NHS Race Equality award.
  • Derbyshire Healthcare FT & Derbyshire Community Health Services - Joint NHS Armed Forces Community Staff Network chaired by Gemma Saunders and Mel Dyke. Nominated for the Military and Civilian Health Partnership award.
  • Chesterfield Royal Hospital FT - Health and Wellbeing Hub. Nominated for the Staff Wellbeing award.

The award ceremony takes place in London on Thursday November 21.

School age immunisation service – upcoming dates

The school age immunisation service summer clinics are available for school-aged children residing in Derby or Derbyshire who have missed their routine adolescent vaccinations (3 in 1 teenage booster, MEN ACWY for meningitis and sepsis, HPV, and the MMR vaccine for measles, mumps and rubella) at school or other venues. These clinics operate on an appointment-only basis.

Chesterfield Royal Hospital annual members meeting

The Chesterfield Royal Hospital Annual Members Meeting gives a chance for members in the local community, to celebrate the work and improvements taking place across the Trust every year, and to ask questions of the leadership team. 

It takes place on Wednesday September 18 2024 5pm-8pm.

Derbyshire Community Health Services annual members meeting

Members of the public are invited to join the annual members' meeting of Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust on Thursday September 12 at 1pm - 3.30pm. This year, their meeting will be structured around their four strategic themes being people, partnerships, healthy communities and future focus.

The meeting will be held virtually and the link to the meeting will be available on the foundation trust’s home page.

DHU colleagues take on Sahara challenge

In just one month, six Charity Champions based at DHU Healthcare will embark on an extraordinary journey to raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK and make a positive impact on local communities.

The team will head to Morocco on Tuesday September 10. They will cover different routes daily and will also be spending time delivering healthcare and support to community projects at the Taghbalte Secondary School.

Derbyshire Dialogue: Dementia strategy

Come along to the next Derbyshire Dialogue, taking place on Microsoft Teams on Wednesday August 21, 1-2pm. 

This session will focus on the Derbyshire Dementia Strategy – the 2025 Vision, and we will hear from Claire Biernacki, Phil Wall and Lorraine Stokes.
