FREEDOM OF INFORMATION – DECISION NOTICE
Dear Sir / Madam,
FOI Reference Number: 1427
I refer to your email of 14 May 2021 requesting information in respect of funded nursing home placements for people over the age of 65.
I can confirm on behalf of Derby and Derbyshire CCG, and in accordance with S.1 (1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) that we do hold the information that you have requested. A response to each element of your request is detailed below:
1. How many individuals over the age of 65 have been placed in nursing homes are wholly funded by DDCCG?
2,272
2. What is the most expensive placement cost?
£4,988.00
3. What is the average cost of these placements?
£1,010.58
4. How many individuals over the age of 65 have been placed in nursing homes and are part funded (not FNC) by DDCCG?
136
5. What is the most expensive contribution cost?
£2,318.40
6. What is the average contribution cost of these placements?
£590.62
7. How many of the individuals identified above have been placed in nursing homes outside of Derbyshire?
Fully Funded: 940
Jointly Funded: 65
Please note that the figures are for patients over the age of 65 placed with a nursing home package (fully or jointly funded, excluding FNC packages) in the period 01/04/20 to 31/03/21. For some patients this could include multiple packages in the period 01/04/20 to 31/03/21, if the funding changed during this period.
The count of individual patients uses the patients initial care package during the period.
The weekly costs per package (average and most expensive) have been calculated from the number of care packages in the period.
The most expensive care packages tend to include a separate 1:1 care package carried out in the nursing home.
I hope that this answers your queries with the information we currently hold, but if I can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me.
