Are you looking to challenge yourself, develop new skills and kick-start your career into health and social care? Are you considering a career within health and social care, but are unsure which specific pathway to take?

Do you have a passion for people and want to be at the forefront of providing first class care to vulnerable adults? If so, the Joined Up Careers health and social care apprenticeship is for you!

Joined Up Careers is a partnership of local health and social care organisations across Derbyshire including Chesterfield Royal Hospital, University Hospitals of Derby and Burton, Derbyshire County Council, Derby City Council, Derbyshire Community Health Service, Derbyshire Healthcare Foundation Trust, DHU (111 service and A&E streaming service) and the private, voluntary and independent sector. All organisations are joining together to support the existing and future workforce through innovative programmes such as this.

With 20 positions available, we’re seeking passionate, committed and people-centred individuals to join our team.

Our apprenticeship is like no other – you will complete 5 placements within different health and social care settings including in a care home, acute hospital, mental health and in the community. You will be exposed to all aspects of working within health and social care; from supporting adults with learning disabilities, to assisting post-operative patients on a busy hospital ward, to supporting individuals during their final hours – we’re looking for individuals who are willing to push themselves and embrace the varied and fantastic opportunities the apprenticeship offers.

The apprenticeship is full-time with shift patterns varying per placement. The ability to travel to and work from different health and social care venues across Derbyshire is essential due to the rotational nature of the apprenticeship. Apprentices will be employed by Derbyshire Community Health Services (DCHS) for the duration of the programme.

On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will be awarded a nationally recognised level 2 qualification in health and social care. Gaining this qualification will open doors to employment and further training/study.

We welcome applications from candidates of all ages and backgrounds, and we also pride ourselves on being inclusive employers and encourage applications from minority groups including BAME and individuals with disabilities.

Please note: this apprenticeship is a great starting point for individuals seeking to pursue a career within health and social care. Due to this, we are unable to accept candidates who have already completed a level 2 apprenticeship (or equivalent qualification) in health and social care.

Provisional Interview Dates 23rd and 24th July  2020
