With growing pressure on the NHS – an ageing population, more people living with long-term conditions, and lifestyle choices affecting people’s health – changes are needed to make sure everybody gets the support they need. To ensure people’s needs are met the Government is investing an extra £20bn a year in the NHS.
A Long Term Plan has been created which sets out what the NHS wants to do better, including providing better support for people with cancer, mental health conditions, heart and lung diseases, long-term conditions, such as diabetes and arthritis, learning disabilities, autism, and for people as they get older and experience conditions such as dementia.
Healthwatch Derbyshire is collecting people’s views on how support for these conditions could be improved. The results will shared with the Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Group to help shape how services are developed locally.
