Health and social care organisations in Derbyshire have been working closely together for some time, to improve care and services for people and make them as efficient and effective as possible.
Government guidelines have been relaxed in many areas now relating to Covid-19 and you will be able to mix with more people and access venues and locations that were previously closed.
However, it is really important we make you aware that many restrictions still remain in place in the hospitals where you are receiving your maternity care.
Each hospital has been asked to make its own decisions about when and how to relax restrictions such as who can visit you and your baby on the ward, if and how you partner can go with you for your appointments or scans, and whether you can have someone with you during your labour. This is because each hospital is set up differently and we must ensure that we keep all environments as safe as possible for the women and babies who need to remain in our care.
Inevitably, because of this, some hospitals will relax some restrictions before other hospitals do. We understand the potential confusion this may cause for you.
We would encourage you to look at the website for the hospital where you are booked to have your maternity care for the most up-to-date information. You can find everything you need in the ‘Hospitals’ section of this website.
We want to avoid the situation where restrictions have been relaxed too quickly and have to be implemented again. All our maternity services want to thank you for your understanding and co-operation during these unprecedented times.
