University Hospitals of Derby and Burton Pain Management Department are experienced in the assessment and management of a wide range of chronic pain conditions, and are committed to provide a safe, compassionate and supportive environment for our patients and their loved ones.

The Chesterfield Royal Hospital Chronic Pain Management Service is provided by a multi-professional team comprising of consultant anaesthetists, nurses, psychologists, physiotherapists, administrative and care staff all working as a team to help support people who are dealing with long term pain.
Escape pain is a rehabilitation programme designed to help people with osteoarthritis and/or chronic joint pain self-manage their condition. The programme aims to increase physical function and improve quality of life.

Livewell Derby has supported thousands of people in Derby to lose weight, get fitter, stop smoking and improve their health. Our free 12-month programmes and NHS Health Checks are available to adults and children registered to a doctor in Derby. Each programme offers individual and group support in addition to fun exercise activities where you’ll meet like-minded people, who according to our clients, can become friends for life!
Physiotherapy
University Hospitals of Derby and Burton: There are various locations for inpatient and outpatient physiotherapy services at the Trust, offering a wide variety of different services dependent on your needs. You may be seen by a physiotherapist as an inpatient on the ward, or referred by you consultant or GP for outpatient treatment.
Derbyshire Community Health Services: The Trust’s physiotherapy service can help you with conditions and symptoms affecting bones, muscles, nerves or joints. If you are aged 18 years and over you can refer yourself into the physiotherapy service by telephone or by using the online self-referral form on their website.
Chesterfield Royal Hospital: The Physiotherapy team provides a range of in and out-patient services for adults and children. The musculo-skeletal (MSK) out patient services can be accessed following a visit to your GP surgery or by filling out their on-line self referral form.
Mental Health Services
The NHS can support your emotional health and wellbeing in many different ways, including speaking directly to a Talking Therapy service about how you are feeling. You can self-refer to local Talking Therapy services (also known as Improving Access to Psychological Therapies – IAPT services) using the contact details on our website. You will be able to get help to manage issues such as depression, low mood, anxiety, stress or panic.
