Information about ICB cost reductions
NHS Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board is developing a plan to respond to the requirement to reduce its costs by 50 per cent.
The government made a series of announcements in March, including the proposed abolition of NHS England, as well as the need for all 42 Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) and NHS provider organisations to make significant financial savings.
A letter from Sir Jim Mackey, NHS England Interim Chief Executive, in April, provided further detail and earlier in May ICBs were provided with further guidance on the functions of a “model ICB” under the new arrangements.
ICBs will continue to play a key role in the NHS, under the government’s 10-year plan that is in preparation.
Derby and Derbyshire ICB employs 503 people, in 451 whole time equivalent roles.
The ICB is supporting its hardworking and valuable staff as much as possible during this time of uncertainty, so they can continue to deliver the high-quality services our local communities expect and deserve.
