Neighbourhood health is a core theme on the NHS 10-year plan published in July 2025.

Neighbourhood working means:

  • Simplifying the experience of accessing health and care services through close collaboration at a local level.
  • Having a more personalised approach to health and care which is delivered closer to where people live and work.
  • Ensuring that communities have a much greater say in the way that health and care services are provided in their local area.

In Derby and Derbyshire we have made significant progress toward these goals, but there is still much to be done.

On these pages, you will find information about the ongoing efforts to make neighbourhood health a reality across Derby and Derbyshire.
