Update: Vasectomy funding in Derby and Derbyshire

Across Derbyshire, providers of vasectomy services are commissioned by the Integrated Care Board (ICB) to carry out a set number of procedures each year. At the moment, demand for vasectomies is much higher than the resources available for this service. Because of this, providers have paused accepting new referrals for now.

If you live in Derby or Derbyshire and are already on the waiting list, you’ll stay in the queue and your provider will contact you when it’s your turn.  There’s no need to get in touch unless you’ve changed your mind and no longer want a vasectomy – if that’s the case, please let your provider know so they can remove you from the list.

We are actively considering possible options for supporting this service as we plan how our resources are allocated for next year.

We’ll update this page when we have more information.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
