World Mental Health Day – 10 October 2021

The theme for 2021’s World Mental Health Day ‘Mental Health in an Unequal World’ focuses on those in society whose mental health may have been more affected by the pandemic. Over three-quarters of young workers have experienced mental health challenges, adults with disabilities report experiencing frequent mental distress almost 5 times as often as adults without disabilities. A survey of over 14,000 adults by the mental health charity Mind has revealed that existing inequalities in housing, employment, finances and other issues have had a greater impact on the mental health of people from different Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority (BAME) groups than white people during the coronavirus pandemic.
