Derbyshire Dales

In 2020 the population profile was 79,624. Over a quarter of this population were aged 65 years or over, half of these people over 75 with those 85 and older years made up 3.3% of the entire total at that time. Populations are generally ageing, acquiring health conditions, and increasing their health needs inevitably.  Projections suggests that our area will see an estimated 53% increase in over 65-year-olds by 2039.

Derbyshire Dales Place Alliance embody partnership working at its best.  Joining forces with the Local Health Partnership during the pandemic; together Place Allies managed and mitigated the impacts of Covid on communities right across the Dales. A real desire and commitment which continues to grow and develop, in an integrated way to ensure that funding and opportunities are maximised, and true collaboration and authentic co-production remain at the heart of what our Alliance does.

As the emerging Integrated Care System develops, this model of working will support and enable the Derbyshire Dales population to achieve their best outcomes.  Uniquely this integration encompasses the Place Alliance and the Locality Health Partnership.  90+ partners are engaged including representatives from the NHS, VCSE sector, Community Representatives, the District Council, the County Council, and the Peak District National Park Authority.
