Amanda Sullivan
Chief Executive
Amanda Sullivan has almost four decades of experience in clinical practice, commissioning and system transformation. She is currently Chief Executive of the NHS Derby and Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICB cluster, before which she was Chief Executive of NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Board (ICB), a role she formally assumed in July 2022.
Her previous roles include the Accountable Officer for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), where she oversaw the merger of 6 CCGs and the development of integrated system working. She was the Interim Accountable Officer for the 6 CCGs prior to this.
As well as various other commissioning leadership roles, Amanda has had a long and successfully Director of Nursing career. She was Interim Director of Nursing for the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire PCT Cluster from 2011 – 2012, and Director of Nursing, Quality and Governance at Nottinghamshire County Teaching Primary Care Trust, where she was awarded a prestigious Florence Nightingale Scholarship.
Her time in leadership roles also spans acute trusts, developing a new model for nursing and midwifery practice across Nottingham University Hospitals Trust as Interim Deputy Director of Nursing there. Amanda’s career in the NHS began as a Staff Nurse in 1988, before becoming a Midwife and Consultant Midwife, an area of professional interest that expanded in 2001 when Amanda was awarded a PhD for research investigating decision-making during pregnancy.
