New podcast series with Dr Kathy McLean: Healthy Conversations

This week we launch our new podcast series Healthy Conversations with ICB Chair Dr Kathy McLean.

In this series, Kathy will talk to people working in a range of organisations across Derby and Derbyshire from hospitals to the local authority and voluntary sector.

Kathy will lead discussion on the challenges and opportunities of providing healthcare, what’s already working well and how best we can work together to improve our population’s health.

The first episode discusses the first of the three core shifts we’re trying to achieve as a system: the move from hospital to community.

She will be joined by Helen Henderson, CEO of Health Watch Derbyshire, Michelle Veitch the Chief Operating Officer at Chesterfield Royal Hospital and Dean Wallace, Chief Operating Officer Derbyshire Community Health Services.

Kathy says: “Be bolder, be braver otherwise we may never do it or it may take too long if we do. Just remember it’s not all about health intervention – in fact, the vast majority of people’s health and wellbeing is to do with wider things.”
