Update on review of services in Glossop

A review of NHS services in Glossop and the surrounding area is continuing.

It began after Glossop moved from the healthcare system in Greater Manchester to Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board in July 2022.

The review has found that the way some services are provided is not the same between Glossop, compared to the rest of Derby and Derbyshire.

This is usually about the way clinical policies are applied when a patient is seen by a healthcare professional.

Our review is covering more than 200 services and contracts and it is taking longer than we had expected it would.

NHS Derby and Derbyshire promised the people of Glossop and the surrounding area that no changes would be made within the first year of the boundary change.

This pledge was honoured, but some service areas in Glossop are now being reviewed and reconsidered.

One example of a difference is in fertility treatments. This area is being reviewed across the whole of the East Midlands.

The review involved many partners and stakeholders and it will continue during 2025.
