Advice and guidance for GP patients
Advice and Guidance (often called A&G) is a way for your GP practice to get specialist advice about your care without you needing to attend a hospital appointment. Your GP can ask a hospital specialist for guidance on tests, treatment options, or next steps, and use this advice to manage your care closer to home where it’s appropriate. This can help you get the right care more quickly, reduce unnecessary hospital visits and make sure you are only referred to hospital when it is really needed.
