Derbyshire black communities receive Covid-19 and vaccine feedback at health engagement event
A health engagement event for Derby and Derbyshire’s Black African and Black Caribbean communities was held last Thursday (9th February) as a way of sharing findings and frequently asked questions from previous listening events.
The event, which was held at Derby’s West Indian Community Association Centre and organised by Joined Up Care Derbyshire organisations NHS Derby and Derbyshire and Derby City Council, alongside Community Action Group Derby and Derby Health Inequalities Partnership, fed back on the views that were gathered about Covid-19 and the experiences black people in Derby have had of the virus and vaccination. This included highlighting and discussing the themes that the discussions in earlier sessions had identified and highlighting some of the work that has been done to date by involved organisations, as well as plans for the future.
Attendees were also able to ask questions about Covid-19, the vaccination and findings from the previous events to a panel of experts, which was a well-received part of the evening.
More information and the report from previous engagement events with black communities in Derby can be found on the DHIP website.
