Information stalls held for Glossop residents

As part of Derby and Derbyshire health and social care transition to becoming an Integrated Care System on 1 July 2022, we also welcomed Glossop to the Derbyshire system as the government boundary change announced in 2021 was enacted on the same day. Over recent months we have been working alongside system partners to provide opportunities for Glossop residents and colleagues working in health and social care to find out more, ask questions and share their thoughts so it was great to see lots of people attending at our drop in session on Norfolk Square on Saturday 9 July. We were also at the Charlesworth and Chisworth Carnival on Saturday afternoon and there was a lot of interest from people there too.

The main questions we continue to hear are “what does this mean for me and will I need to travel further to receive my care?” We continue to reassure people that residents of Glossop will receive their care in exactly the same way as they did before the boundary change and that there are no proposed changes for the next 12 months.

We are already hearing people sharing their experiences that they have not noticed any changes as part of the transition and this helps others to feel more assured. We want to thank our partners and patient representatives for their support throughout the transition. Particular thanks to the Bureau for hosting the Saturday sessions and other opportunities and to The Glossopdale Neighbourhood Team and Patient Neighbourhood group.

We will be continuing to attend the drop in sessions at Norfolk Square in Glossop on the second Saturday of each month as part of our wider programme of listening and providing information for local residents.
