Join our public session | How the NHS uses patient data to improve care
We are holding a public session to explain how patient data helps us deliver better care, prevent illness, and support people across Derby and Derbyshire.
Every day, the NHS relies on patient data to deliver better healthcare for everyone. Patient data is at the heart of how we plan services, spot health issues early, and support people before they become seriously ill.
By understanding what’s happening in our communities, we can make sure the right care is available, at the right time, for those who need it most.
We know that people have questions about how their data is used, so we are holding a public session on Tuesday 18 November, 2-3pm where we will be joined by Dr Laura French, Director of Population Health Management for NHS Derby and Derbyshire,
We will also have a panel to answer any questions you may have.
During the session, you’ll find out:
- What patient data is and how it’s used to improve care
- How Population Health Management helps us plan and deliver better services
- A tool called the ‘Federated Data Platform (FDP)’ and how it supports joined-up care in Derby and Derbyshire
- How your data is kept secure and your rights, including the national data opt-out
Everyone is welcome, please share with friends, family, and community groups.
Time: 2-3 pm
