Peer Leadership Programme | 8 September 2022

Joined Up Care Derbyshire, Derby and Derbyshire’s Integrated Care System (ICS) is a partnership that brings together providers (those who deliver services) and commissioners (those who plan and buy services) with other local partners to collectively plan health and care services to meet the needs of the local population. The central aim of an ICS is to join up care across different organisations and settings to provide people with more convenient and personalised care for their health and wellbeing.

To do this well we need to listen to what matters most to people in Derbyshire. It makes sense that the only way to ensure that our NHS meets everyone’s needs, is to involve people who use our services, and especially those who are living with a long-term health condition, disabled people and family carers. Therefore, in partnership with NHS England we are offering an exciting and innovative online personal development programme called the Peer Leadership Development Programme.

The aim of the programme is:

  • To tell people what personalised care is and how people can benefit
  • To develop new Peer Leaders. Peer Leaders are people with lived experience of using health and care services who are committed to working collaboratively with the ICS to shape and influence how health and care is delivered.

To find out more about this exciting opportunity you are invited to join our online launch event on Thursday 8th September 2022 at 11.00am. Register here for the launch event.
