Targeted Menopause Support

Your JUCD Wellbeing Team provides a range of health and wellbeing services to help our keep colleagues healthy, safe and well in all aspects of life.

In addition to the wide range of physical activity classes, training courses, workshops, support groups and cafés available as part of ‘Your Wellbeing Timetable,’ a series of targeted support is also provided, which includes a comprehensive range of menopause support.

Upcoming menopause support includes:

My Surgical Menopause Event – colleagues from across the system are invited to join us for an evening of informative presentations, support, and guidance for those who have experienced or due to undergo surgical menopause, a total hysterectomy, or removal of the ovaries. We will be joined by guest speakers who are experts in their field, and you will receive support and guidance to help improve your care pre and post hysterectomy. There will also be break out tables – a chance to meet/talk to other colleagues who are in a similar position, to share stories and support.  Thursday 7th March 6pm – 8pm at Royal Derby Hospital

Virtual menopause support:

Menopause Practitioner Q&A – a safe and informative space providing an opportunity to ask menopause related questions LIVE with one of our qualified menopause practitioners. Tuesday 5th March 2pm – 3pm

The Importance of Ethnicity in Menopause – Dr Radhika Vohra will be talking about the importance of ethnicity in menopause and the challenges women of colour face navigating peri/menopause. This session includes case studies, explanation, signposting information, and management tips; aiming to arouse clinical curiosity on the topic and support for those treating patients. Thursday 7th March 12pm – 1pm

Menopause and Sleep  – Join Dr Caitlin, a sleep practitioner with 20 years experience in General Practice and a special interest in women’s health and hormonal medicine; to learn how the menopause can affect sleep. Thursday 7th March 12.30pm – 1.30pm

 Queering the Menopause  – Nat Thorne from the Nottingham Centre for Transgender Health will be talking about what we mean by menopause and why this time of life may be experienced differently for all LGBTQIA+ people. Tuesday 12th March 12.30pm – 1.30pm

Manager & Leader Menopause Workforce Support – a group for managers and leaders to learn and share ideas and examples on supporting their teams through perimenopause and menopause. Thursday 14th March 10am – 11am

Menopause Café – chat, listen, learn, share advice and hear the latest menopause updates with fellow colleagues in a non-judgemental and friendly space. Tuesday 19th March 2pm – 3pm

Menopause Yoga – delivering specially adapted yoga practises, mindfulness and breathing techniques, Menopause Yoga offers a toolkit of techniques to help colleagues manage a range of menopause symptoms. Wednesdays from 8am – 8.30am

Meno-pause – short, weekly mindfulness sessions designed to support colleagues who are navigating the menopause. Take a moment in the working week to pause and notice the changes you are experiencing. All are welcome, no matter where abouts you are in the menopause journey. Thursdays from 12.00pm -12.20pm

The JUCD Wellbeing team were recently announced as the winners of the Most Inclusive Menopause Friendly Employer Award at the prestigious 2023 Menopause Friendly Employer Awards ceremony; having wowed the judges with its wealth of menopause programmes and initiatives to support JUCD health and social care colleagues across the system.

ALL our menopause support sessions can be accessed by colleagues FREE of charge. Bookings can be made via the team’s easy to use online booking platform
